Office Hours The NICE office is open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Housing Information The NICE staff can refer student to dormitories, private home-stay agencies, and other housing possibilities.
Program Costs The program fee is fixed; the total cost of living in Honolulu for three weeks varies by student. TThis is only an estimate of the various costs that should be considered in the budgets of the institution and students.
Required costs:
Tuition and registration: $1,115 (includes non-refundable $75.00 application/registration fee)
Two off-campus educational activities: up to $20.00 ( maximum total for both)
Optional costs:
UH ID Card: $10.00
The WRC (gym): $25.00 (for one month; $5.00 per day, $15.00 per week)
Optional activities: Varies (many are free; the range is between $0.00 to $40.00 total)
Personal Costs:
Housing and meals: $1,300 to $1,600
Airport transfer: $50.00 to $100.00 (for taxi; the bus, about $5.50)
Bus transportation: $70.00 (a one-month pass, or $5.50 per day-details available here)
Shopping and souvenirs: Varies by student
Health Insurance All NICE students are required to have health insurance. Medical insurance should be purchased in the students’ own countries if possible. Students should carry their medical insurance card with them at all times.
Students without medical insurance may not be allowed to attend classes. Students who do not purchase medical insurance in their home countries can purchase it on-line from the following private providers: HTH Travel Insurance or Compass Benefits Group. Visa Information Visa status is determined by the Department of Homeland Security. Most 3-week NICE students are in the US on tourist (B-2) visas or on the ESTA visa waiver. On this status, students are eligible to study part-time.
Students are not eligible to study full-time or work in the US. If they have any questions about their visa status, thay can go to the NICE office to see Lisa Nakandakari, Student Services Coordinator. They can also call her at 956-7753, or email her at [email protected].
Free Wireless Access Students can use free Wifi around the university. If they request it when they register online, NICE staff will email a user name and password to them. If students did not get them, they simply stop by the NICE Office. The staff will gladly provide these.
